Reminder: Bingo nite is Friday 22 February.
Come and join us for a fun Bingo on Friday 22 February: The snowball has still not been won so it will be £240 for 57 numbers. We usually play 6 games and these are £3 each. 75% of the pot is paid in in prizes, 25% for a line and 50% for a full house, and you decide which game the snowball will be played on. So get this date in your diary and maybe you will be a winner. Try your luck! Everybody is welcome, you don't need to be a member to join in the fun!

The Sydenham Catholic Club Annual General Meeting will be held Friday 29 March 2019 from 8pm. Nomination forms to join the committee are now available from the lobby of the club. We are proud of our close association with the charity Anerley Across and hold regular fund raising events at the club. We would like to thank everyone for their generosity in attending these events, giving so freely with financial donations, volunteering, offerings of gifts for raffles and the like and in expending valuable time and energy for this worthy cause.

Sydenham Catholic Clubs falls under the auspices of the Parish of Our Lady & St Philip Neri. We are proud to have Fr Luke as our Club President. A big thanks to all our regular patrons - the true lifeblood of our local community.

Sydenham Catholic Club was established in October 1968. Its purpose was primarily to provide a friendly venue for families to meet for social gatherings. It is, of course, strongly linked to the local parish and fund raising is a major part of the club's activities. Since it was established, the club has raised more than a quarter of a million pounds, which has gone to the church and other worthwhile causes.

The building itself was once a boys school. The club was refurbished in 2000, providing a warm and welcoming environment. Today, it is the perfect place to socialise for all ages. Why not join us? You are warmly welcome!

Our door is always open for visitors and new faces. Try us out, and if you like the experience, come again with a friend or two. And why not become a member and make savings on music nights and special occasions. Don't be a stranger!

The Belfast Brogue!
When I was at primary school in north London, our games teacher, Ernest Turkington, in his best Belfast accent, told us to bring 'a pair of Spurs socks' the following week. In his next lesson the whole class was wearing socks from the Tottenham Hotspur replica kit (even the Arsenal boys). He was apoplectic - he'd meant 'spare' socks.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a charge of £1 for all non-members visiting the club. The usual Saturday night charges remain the same: £2 members and £4 non-members.
